Stand up for Jesus

No matter what you face in your life, God is faithful.
We pray that our country will turn to Jesus, repent of their sins and ask for guidance.

Loving Church – Loving Your Church

Why should you love church or love your church?

Loving Church is very important to your future.
Loving Your Church is very important to the future of your family and friends. Being in church is vital for life both now and in eternity.

In the Church beginning there were two groups, Jew and Gentile
In the present day church there are two groups, saved and unsaved.
Jesus loves us all. We are all children of God. The difference between us is that the saved are bound for heaven and eternal presence with Our Father while the unsaved are bound for a life of eternal misery in hell in the absence of their Father.

You may ask are there unsaved in the church? Absolutely there are unsaved people in every church. Though it is not our place to judge or assume whether a person in our church is saved or unsaved, Jesus taught that we must witness to all people so we all have the opportunity to have an eternal life with The Father. This is the reason why it is so important for us all to attend church and spend time together worshipping, praying, and studying God’s word as well as eating together, laughing together, sharing our lives with one another and loving each other. Church is not a building, it is a fellowship of believers who love and encourage each other. The local church should be a family of believers who have the same goal: helping each other to live life to the fullest and securing an eternal future with God in heaven.

Pastor Gerald’s sermon last Sunday, November 6, is posted onYouTube.I encourage all of you to watch this sermon and invite others to watch it. If you know someone who does not have access to watch it on line, let Pastor Gerald know and a CD of the sermon can be provided for you to give it to them or it can be mailed to them. The future of the church and your church is in all our hands. We all should be in church and working for our church. To watch on YouTube, search Bethsaida-Quinby Worship Service November 6

Stay All Prayed Up

Bethsaida-Quinby Worship Service – June 12, 2022

This week, Pastor Truluck had some minor surgery and is on bed rest for a week. Mrs. Lou Truluck brought our sermon message for today. Unfortunately, we do not have a recording of her giving her sermon, but here is a summary. Start with the reading of Psalm 121:

Psalm 121

I lift up my eyes to the mountains –
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
He will not let your foot slip –
he who watches over you will not slumber;
indeed, he who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
The Lord watches over you –
the Lord is your shade at your right hand;
the sun will not harm you by day;
nor the moon by night.
The Lord will keep you from all harm –
he will watch over your life;
the Lord will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore.

The world has been in trouble ever since the time of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, when Satan tempted them to eat of the fruit of the Tree of Life. There have been all forms of trouble for mankind because of disobedience and sin. Fortunately for us, God is our help in troubling times.

Staying all prayed up is the best way to invite God into your heart where he can be our help when we have heartaches, sickness, strife, war, illness, financial woes or any other kind of trouble in our life.

Please read Hebrews 13:5-8 to find God’s instruction and promise to us. In this passage, God promises: “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”

The most effective way to remind yourself that God is your help in troubled times, is to read the Holy Bible and “Stay All Prayed Up”. Take time daily to pray and have a conversation with God. Then you will be able to feel Him working in your life.

Many churches have not able to have in person worship services, ours included, during these times of COVID-19, and because of those times, sermons and entire worship services have been broadcast on YouTube, Live Stream, and FaceBook. These are wonderful tools, but something is missing from these services: Fellowship with other Believers. So, please take the opportunity to worship together at a church of your choice.

Please read Hebrews 10:24-25 to find what Scripture has to say about worshipping in person.
Until next time, “Stay All Prayed Up!!”

Pentecost Sunday

Today we celebrate Pentecost.

What is Pentecost? This Sunday celebrates the day that the Holy Spirit came to the Disciples and the believers who were gathered to hear The Word from Peter. During this worship service the Holy Spirit came down in tongues of fire to rest above all assembled to indwell in the believers. On this day, Peter preached and 3000 joined the movement, which at time was called ‘The Way’. This was the birth of the Universal Church of Christians.

Are you ready to return to ‘normal’ worship services? We here at Bethsaida/Quinby UMC certainly want to begin an exciting, ‘new normal’

Please join us for a very special joint worship service with our guests Pastor Gregory Nesmith and their congregation.

We will meet together at Quinby United Methodist Church, 1247 E. Ashby Rd., Quinby, SC, on this Sunday, April 10, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. to enjoy special music, fellowship and a wonderful sermon by Pastor Nesmith.

First Sunday of Advent

Welcome to Advent, (The definition of advent is the arrival of an important person or event).

We invite you to take this time from today until Christmas to read the Book of Luke.

If you read one chapter a day from today until Christmas, you will have read the entire life of Jesus Christ from his birth to his teachings to his death and to his resurrection. What a wonderful way to learn about The Son of God.

Also, please make room in your life to attend worship services during this time. As the prophet Isaiah announces to the world, “Prepare ye the way of the Lord”!!
